Meet Dr. Villafrate

Welcome. Taking the step to seek therapy, especially when you have been navigating complex trauma, systemic barriers, or prolonged periods of feeling unsafe, requires immense courage.

If you are reading this, you may be carrying the heavy, invisible weight of past experiences that continue to affect your daily life. Perhaps you are dealing with chronic physical exhaustion, anxiety, or the lingering effects of systemic inequities. You might have relied on substances as a way to survive and numb the pain when the world felt entirely unmanageable. I want you to know that your responses are valid survival mechanisms, and in this space, you will be met with profound understanding, not judgment.

My name is Dr. Villafrate, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to providing holistic, culturally responsive care across the state of Florida. My practice is built on the belief that healing must encompass the whole person. Because I specialize in Health Psychology, our work together will go beyond traditional talk therapy. We will actively address the powerful connection between your mind and body, exploring how chronic stress and complex trauma are held in your nervous system. Together, we will build practical, sustainable tools to help you regulate your emotions, manage physical stress, and restore your energy.

I have a deep commitment to working alongside women who have faced significant adversity, including survivors of exploitation and human trafficking. I know that navigating these systems leaves deep emotional scars. My approach is entirely survivor-informed and person-centered. My goal is never to 'rescue' you, but to partner with you as you reclaim your voice, your safety, and your autonomy.

Furthermore, I recognize that therapy cannot happen in a vacuum. Your cultural background, your native language, and your lived experiences with systemic inequality are central to who you are. I practice with cultural humility, ensuring that your unique heritage is honored and integrated into our healing process.
